Brown Sugar BBQ Pork Steaks

Brown Sugar BBQ Pork Steaks

When the weather’s nice, there’s nothing quite like barbecued pork on the grill. This rendition gets its addictive flavor from a homemade barbecue sauce (that also happens to be awesome on chicken.) You can even make the sauce ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to grill up the pork.

  • Serves 4
  • Active time 20 minutes
  • Total time 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 MOINK pork steaks
  • ½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp. chili powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Cooking instructions

  1. Thaw the pork steaks.
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients except for the vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer 5 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Brush the pork with oil and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Grill 5 minutes. Turn, and grill 5 more minutes or until the pork steaks are done, basting with the sauce as it cooks. Remove from the grill, slice, and serve.

Pro Tip:

Not Grilling Weather?

This is still super delish cooked in a grill pan or cast-iron skillet!
