Sun-Dried Tomato Butter

This compound butter will take steak, chicken, pork, and seafood from “meh” to “marvelous.” Make this ahead to allow the flavors to develop, and place a slice of butter over the top of your preferred protein during the last minute or two of cooking. Baste with the butter as it melts for ultimate results.

Makes about 3/4 cup

Total time 10 minutes


  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup minced sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Cooking instructions

Mix together all of the ingredients in a small bowl. If desired, roll into a log and wrap tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
