Opa! Bring the taste of the Mediterranean home with these tasty Greek-inspired flatbread sandwiches. If you’re short on time, you can opt for store-bought tzatziki instead of making it from scratch. We think it’s totally worth the effort though.

  • Serves 4
  • Active time: 30 minutes
  • Total time: 1 hour

Ingredients

For the steak:

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 MOINK New York Strip
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 pita bread rounds, warmed
  • Lettuce, tomato wedges, and sliced red onion for serving

For the tzatziki:

  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup seeded and finely chopped English cucumber
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • ½ tsp. lemon zest
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Stir together the olive oil, garlic, oregano, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Place the steak in a large zip-top plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the top and turn to coat. Let the steak marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.
  2. While the steak marinates, stir together the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill the steak 3 to 4 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. Remove the steak from the grill and let rest at least 10 minutes before thinly slicing.
  4. To serve, divide the steak evenly between the pitas. Top with steak, tomatoes, red onion, and Tzatziki. Fold and serve immediately.
