Carne Asada Tacos

Any night can be taco night with these steak tacos. A simple marinade imparts classic carne asada flavor into the flank steak and our Tomatillo Salsa is the perfect topping for making these tacos extra yummy.

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • ½ tsp. chili powder
  • ½ tsp. ground coriander
  • ½ tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 MOINK flank steak
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 12 corn tortillas, charred
  • Tomatillo Salsa
  • Toppings: diced red onion, chopped fresh cilantro, and diced avocado
  • Lime wedges

Cooking instructions

  1. Stir together the oil, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, coriander, oregano in a small bowl. Place the flank steak in a large zip-top plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak and marinate 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill, covered with the grill lid, 5 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. Remove the steak from the grill and let rest at least 15 minutes before thinly slicing against the grain.
  3. To serve, divide the steak evenly between the tortillas. Top with Tomatillo Salsa and desired toppings. Serve with lime wedges.
